20 March | Cliveden House, National Trust | Arrive anytime between 11am – 3pm

Join us for a calm, self-guided awareness walk celebrating dogs who wear yellow and the owners who walk beside them every day. This is not a group set-off or a busy meet-up. Instead, it is a relaxed, supportive environment where you can arrive in your own time, walk at your own pace, and simply enjoy being somewhere beautiful with your dog.

Many owners of sensitive or fearful dogs avoid places like this because it can feel overwhelming. This day is about changing that. It is about celebrating yellow as a language of kindness and understanding, a visual way to show your dog’s voice and creating a space where owners feel supported as much as their dogs.

Who Is This Walk For?

This walk is for dogs who wear yellow space-awareness gear, dogs who are nervous, fearful, or recovering from injury or illness, and most importantly the owners who walk beside them every day. It’s for owners of dogs who wear yellow who want to celebrate the awareness and experience the support and understanding that comes from walking somewhere beautiful, with guidance from dog trainers and gentle education available throughout the day.

A gentle note:  If being around other dogs would be too much for your dog, even with space, it’s absolutely okay to leave them at home where they feel safe. We would still love to meet you and hear about your dog’s journey over a coffee.

What to Expect on the Day

There will be a #DogsinYellow gazebo area where you can ask questions, pick up awareness leaflets, and take a moment before or after your walk. A calm Yellow Space Zone will be available for dogs arriving who may need a few minutes to settle using ACE free work. Volunteers and supportive trainers will be nearby if you would like guidance or simply a friendly face who understands.

This is not about walking together in a large group. Some people may choose to walk with a friend, others may prefer to walk alone both are absolutely fine. The intention is shared understanding, not shared pace.

We will also have a small number of borrow bags with yellow leads and lead slips available on the day for anyone who would like to take part but doesn’t yet have yellow gear. The aim is to create a gentle “sea of yellow” throughout the estate — a visual way of showing both the need for space and kindness to the dogs who need understanding.

A limited number of small awareness goodie bags will be available for early sign-ups. These will include a calming spray for your dog, a calming pulse roller for you, and a few yellow awareness goodies designed to support both you and your dog.

Why This Matters

For many owners, walking a dog who needs space can feel isolating. Yellow helps communicate that need quietly and clearly. This awareness walk is about showing that you are not alone, that support exists, and that beautiful places can feel accessible again.

This is the very first #dogsinyellow awareness walk, and together we can make it special so more walks like this can begin to appear all over the country.

Whether you walk with your dog, walk with a friend, or simply come to learn and connect, you are warmly welcome.

Register your interest below and join us in celebrating #dogsinyellow day.
